Solar
PV Panels on Bredwardine & Brobury Village Hall
The
meter
is spinning! All eighteen of the Solar Photovoltaic panels are in
situ
and generating electricity. Amazing! It took 14 months to
discuss and
arrange the project and only three days for Greenearth Energy to
install. BRE, Building Research Establishment, funded the
project,
awarding the Village Hall Committee with two grants, covering 95%
of
the project cost. A picture is worth a thousand words. Just

who interested. A seat by a blazing fire and freshly baked,
home-made organic bread and hearty veggie soup were all provided.
Where
to find Edi & Manu. Wern-hir Woodland is in
Peterchurch, up Long Lane, past Barley Knapp farm on the right and Old

Vowchurch Parish Plan
Peter Gunn-Wilkinson attended a meeting of the
Vowchurch Parish Council. He explained the advantages of formally
adopting a Parish Plan and encouraged them to address our
GVEG concerns for the Environment and for the Development of
Sustainable Communities, when drawing up their Parish Plans.
The
Vowchurch Councillors were generally in favour of this and are about to
debate whether to embark on a Parish Plan. The first
step involves calling a public meeting to assess the level of
support for a plan and to confirm that the local Vowchurch
Community wants a plan. The Council can only facilitate the
development of a parish plan when there has first been a Community
desire to have one.
The
Councillors requested that we encourage any GVEG members who are
resident in the four parishes of Michaelchurch, Turnastone,
Vowchurch and Newton St.Margarets to support the proposal at
the public meeting (no date for the meeting has been set).
Windfarm
Proposed on Reeves Hill
You
may be interested in the developments that are taking place
at Reeves Hill near Presteigne. There should be a planning
application for a wind farm going in late April. Four
turbines with total capacity of 9.2MW, 105m to blade tip.
The project has been organised by a local farmer, a few
investors and now given new impetus by Bolsterstone plc. Energy4All are likely to be involved
in trying to secure some level of community ownership via a
cooperative. At this stage planning permission
and level of community ownership are to be determined. For more details,
